Allie orders something to drink at the cafe.

  • Staff : What would you like?
  • Allie : I’d like a tall iced coffee, please.
  • Staff : Anything else?
  • Allie : Can I get a cinnamon roll too?
  • Staff : Sure. The total comes to 900 yen. Will that be for here or to go?
  • Allie : For here, please. (She gives him 1,000 yen)
  • Staff : Here's your change. We'll bring the food to your table. Please take a seat wherever you like.
  • Allie : Thank you.

Note

When you want to say “I’d like to order”, you can say “注文をお願いします”.
When you ask someone to do something, they can be used and they are interchangeable. “お願いします” is a phrase and you can just say it by pointing out what you order, but ”下さい” needs the object with particle “を”.
When you ask someone about whether you can get something or not, they can be used. “頂けますか” is more polite than “もらえますか”.
You can just say “店内で”, “持ち帰りで”. You can also say “店内で頂きます”, “持ち帰ります”.
You can say “お釣りを下さい” or “お釣りをもらえますか” to get your change.
