I’m a night owl because I stay up late four or five times a week. And I’m not good at getting up early.
Ken and Leo are talking about their weekly meeting.

  • Ken: Did you hear that tomorrow’s meeting will start one hour early?
  • Leo: Yeah, we’re supposed to get to the office before 8 AM. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to wake up early.
  • Ken: I’m a morning person. Do you want me to call you and hang up after one ring to wake you up?
  • Leo: Yes, thanks!
Meg and Amy are having a chat.

  • Meg: Are you a morning person or a night person?
  • Amy: If anything, I’m a night person. And you?
  • Meg: I usually get up 5 AM. The early birds catches the worm.
  • Amy: I’m trying to be an early bird, but I’m more productive at night than mornings.

It’s slang that means to hang up after the first ring.
It’s a proverb that means “the early birds catches the worm”.
